I was inspired to create my Sous Vide Bacon Egg Bites when I saw a Facebook post rant and raving about the Starbucks sous vide egg bites. Determined to figure out what made these egg bites so special, I was on a mission.
The egg bites bites were soft and airy with a toasty top that were nice and brown. In my recipe, I used a combination of shredded cheese and cottage cheese which gives the egg bites body without being greasy. The heavy whipping cream adds richness and a custardy feel to Sous Vide egg bites.
The egg mixture are placed in 4oz mason jars which allows me to stack them on top of each other in the Sous Vide. The finished egg bites are ready to eat after one hour or you can brown them with a little oil on a non-stick skillet over medium high heat for 30 seconds per side for the toasty top.
